Team Member Bio:

Monica currently is a K-12 ESL teacher with a Master’s in curriculum and instruction and a Bachelor’s in journalism. She also has experience with at-risk and gifted students. Monica believes ALL students are academic language learners and benefit from strategies designed for ESL. Her passion for ESL is followed closely by all things techie. Monica also volunteers with Virginia TESOL, helping lead the org’s recent resurgence into K12. She has served on the board of directors as well as assisted with VATESOL conference planning, marketing, and newsletter editing. Monica enjoys expanding her skill set and networking on Twitter and always is on the lookout for new and relevant edubooks. She may have a sticker fetish (Who doesn’t love swag?!) and fully understands “geeking out” over educelebs. Monica ensures she has time with her husband, Mike, their 3 children, Anderson, Abigail and Archer plus two whippets, Remington and Mouse. She attributes and thanks God for all her blessings.
